1) Integrity & Trust

  • All listing information must be truthful and accurate.
  • No deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent claims.
  • Comply with applicable state and federal laws, including fair advertising.
  • Credentials, licenses, and certifications must be valid where claimed.

2) Respectful Engagement

  • No harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or abusive language.
  • Constructive feedback is welcome; personal attacks are not.
  • Reviews should reflect genuine first-hand experiences.

3) Appropriate Content

  • Listings must be relevant to Alabama-based businesses or services.
  • No adult/explicit content, illegal products/services, or copyright violations.
  • Avoid political or religious advocacy unless directly relevant and factual.
  • Images must be family-friendly, accurate, and properly licensed.

4) Local-Only Commitment

  • Businesses must be based in Alabama or have a physical presence in the state.
  • Out-of-state businesses must directly serve Alabama residents.

5) Privacy & Safety

  • Don’t post private personal information unless it’s official business contact information.
  • No scams, phishing, or unauthorized data collection.
  • ABD may withhold certain contact details publicly; they may appear on receipts/invoices or be shared via private channels.

6) Prohibited Activities

  • Fake businesses, listings, or reviews.
  • MLMs/pyramid schemes; counterfeit or IP-infringing goods.
  • Spammy or manipulative posting behavior.
  • Abuse of referral, rewards, or rating systems.

7) Business Reviews & Ratings

  • Reviews must be honest and free of conflicts of interest.
  • No incentives for positive reviews.
  • Manipulation or false reporting may lead to removal or bans.

8) Enforcement & Consequences

  • Warnings for minor issues.
  • Removal of listings/reviews for serious violations.
  • Suspension for repeated or severe violations.
  • ABD may pursue legal action where appropriate.

  • Support local businesses and keep spending in our communities.
  • Promote trust, transparency, and growth statewide.
  • Maintain ABD as a safe, valuable resource for shoppers and businesses.
